My Shop

About Me

So why should you consider commissioning a piece from my little shop in the woods? Well...

I've been a law enforcement officer in the State of Maine for over 30 years, which pays the bills. I've accumulated just a bit of wear and tear from this life and I'm quietly sneaking up on retirement. On my own time I like to do country stuff. I'm developing a small Christmas tree plantation and I harvest timber off my own property, much of which finds its way into my woodworking projects (or my stove!) I find that woodworking makes it easier for people to deal with me. Just ask my wife!

I'm becoming resigned to being "of an age". Many things come with that. My favorites are patience and perspective. I've learned that life really is too short to waste time on sorry things or folks who are not good people. Because of this I try to get to know something about a potential customer before I start a commission.  This usually means I'm able to invest much more of myself in the person and the project, which usually makes for a happy woodworker and a happy customer.

I rarely work on more than one or two projects at a time and I admit to being slow and methodical. If you are looking for a quick deadline on your project, I'm afraid I'm not your boy. If you want a carefully crafted custom piece at a fair price and you're of a mind with me, then maybe I am.

I offer a money back guarantee. If the piece I make for you is not completely satisfying, ship it back to me within thirty days and I'll refund your money, no questions asked. If things go as they normally do this shouldn't be an issue, but . . .

Because of my day job I don't have a listed phone number. Hopefully you'll understand that. I'd prefer to be contacted, at least initially, by email. Snail mail is a good second choice. Both addresses are listed on my home page. Take your time and think it over.

Thanks!
